Smooth Over is the weekly intensive step in both the Velveteen Dream and Forget Frizz systems. Applied in place of conditioner with extended contact time, it delivers a concentrated dose of frizz-fighting and smoothing actives that the daily conditioner cannot match in 2–3 minutes. Use it once a week for hair that reverts quickly, or after colour or chemical services when frizz is at its worst.

Apply to towel-blotted damp hair, not soaking wet. The concentrated actives penetrate better in less dilute conditions. 5 minutes on damp hair delivers more than 10 minutes on saturated hair.

How To Use

  1. After shampooing, apply to towel-blotted hair mid-lengths to ends in place of conditioner.
  2. Leave 5–10 minutes. Rinse.

Yes — Smooth Over has a higher concentration of smoothing actives than the daily conditioner. More time with the regular conditioner gives you slightly more conditioning; Smooth Over delivers genuinely more intensive cuticle sealing that the daily conditioner can't match regardless of time.
Yes — 5–10 minutes for the concentrated smoothing treatment. For very frizzy or coarse hair, leave on for 15–20 minutes under a shower cap. The intensive smoothing agents need more contact time than a rinse-out conditioner to work fully.
Yes — Smooth Over is shared across both frizz systems. It works with either shampoo as the weekly intensive conditioner replacement. Use it as the treatment step in whichever daily system you're on.
Yes — for thick or medium frizzy hair, Smooth Over delivers excellent results. For fine frizzy hair, apply carefully to ends only and use a shorter time. Fine hair that finds Smooth Over too heavy may do better with Frizz-Me-Not leave-in treatment instead.
Yes — twice weekly is appropriate for very coarse or extremely frizzy hair in a high-humidity environment. Most hair types find once a week sufficient. If hair starts to feel heavy, reduce to every two weeks.
