We brought in the OI Shampoo Refill for the clients who already know they love OI and want a practical middle option between the 280ml retail size and the 1000ml backbar size. The Davines commitment to reducing packaging waste aligns with why Moda chose them as our salon line in the first place — family-owned, generationally thinking, built around sustainability as a business principle rather than a marketing position.

Same formula as the OI Shampoo. Roucou Oil from the Amazonian Achiote plant delivers Vitamin A, beta-carotene, and antioxidant protection. Sulfate-free, colour-safe, and safe for daily use on all hair types. Lather it in, leave it a full minute, rinse completely, and follow with OI Conditioner.

Key Ingredients

  • Roucou Oil (Bixa Orellana Seed Oil): Cold-pressed from the Amazonian roucou plant. Exceptionally rich in beta-carotene — one of the most potent natural sources available. Coats the hair fibre with a protective, light-reflective layer that amplifies shine without adding weight.
  • Hydrolysed Wheat Proteins: Bond to the hair shaft to temporarily reinforce structural integrity, reduce static, and improve combability from the first rinse.

How To Use

  1. Saturate hair thoroughly with warm water before applying.
  2. Apply a small amount to the scalp and massage in — start at the scalp, work toward the lengths.
  3. Rinse completely, then repeat for a second lather (recommended for best results).
  4. Follow with OI Conditioner.

Yes — OI Shampoo is sulfate-free and colour-safe. It is the shampoo we use at the Moda backbar on every client, including those who have just had colour or chemical services. The gentle cleansing agents remove scalp buildup without stripping colour pigments.
The 500ml Refill is the middle option — more product than the 280ml retail size without committing to the full 1000ml backbar format. Same formula as both. It also reduces packaging per wash, which aligns with Davines' sustainability commitments.
OI Shampoo is suitable for daily use on all hair types including fine hair. The sulfate-free formula cleanses without over-stripping. Focus application at the roots and let the rinse carry it through the lengths if your scalp tends toward oiliness.
No silicones in OI Shampoo means no coating-style buildup. Regular use builds cumulative Roucou Oil benefit. In hard water areas, a monthly chelating wash with Davines MINU Shampoo will clear mineral deposits without disrupting the OI routine.
Water temperature, massage technique, and the full OI system used in sequence all contribute at the backbar. At home, leaving the shampoo on for a full minute before rinsing, following with OI Conditioner, and finishing with OI Oil or Milk before blowdrying gets you closest to the salon result.
