The Moda Take

The Parlux Alyon in Pink — the Italian-made professional dryer with a 2,250W K-Advance Plus® motor and Air Ionizer Tech. This is the 220V European-plug model, supplied with a European (Schuko-style) plug for use on 220–240V mains.

Important: European Plug and 220V — Please Read Before You Buy

This is the European specification of the Parlux Alyon. It is built for 220–240V mains and ships with a two-pin European plug — it is not the Canadian 120V model. On a standard Canadian or North American wall outlet it will not run correctly, and a simple travel plug adapter is not enough: an adapter only changes the shape of the pins, not the voltage. Running a 220V dryer on 120V leaves it badly underpowered, and forcing it can damage the motor — damage that falls outside the manufacturer's warranty. This model is for use in Europe, anywhere on a 220–240V supply, or with a suitable step-up voltage transformer. If you need a dryer for everyday use on Canadian outlets, choose the Canadian 1875W Parlux Alyon instead.

The Moda Team Review

Parlux has been making professional hair dryers in Italy since 1977, and the Alyon is the model that set the benchmark the rest of the industry measures against. The European version carries the same professional pedigree — the K-Advance Plus® motor, the lightweight Alyon body that stays comfortable through back-to-back blowouts, and the ionic technology that takes the static and frizz out of a finish rather than just drying the hair.

At 2,250W on a 220V supply this model moves a lot of air fast, which is what makes a Parlux feel different in the hand from a mass-market dryer: sections dry quickly and evenly, with no hot spots thanks to the variable-geometry heating element. The antimicrobial silver treatment on the body and the recyclable, energy-conscious construction are the same details that make the Alyon a tool stylists keep for years, not seasons.

Why This One Exists

We carry the European-plug Alyon for clients who genuinely need a 220–240V dryer — those moving to or spending extended time in Europe, clients setting up a second home abroad, or professionals who travel to work on European mains. It is a true Parlux Alyon in every respect except the plug and voltage. If that is exactly what you are looking for, this is the right unit; if you are drying your hair on Canadian outlets at home, it is not — and we would rather tell you that up front.

Moda Pro Tip

Hold the concentrator parallel to the hair shaft rather than across it — that directs the airflow down the cuticle and is the single biggest difference between a smooth blowout and a frizzy one. Finish each section with the cold shot to set the cuticle before you release the brush. And keep the rear air intake clean: blocked airflow is the number one cause of reduced performance and early motor wear on any Parlux.

Not the Right Fit If...

This is not for you if you run your dryer on standard Canadian 120V outlets — reach for the Canadian 1875W Parlux Alyon instead, which is built for North American mains and needs no transformer. It is also not the lightest option in the range: if weight is your priority, the Parlux Digitalyon is lighter with a digital motor.

How To Use

  1. Confirm your power supply is 220–240V, or use a suitable step-up voltage transformer — never plug this into a 120V outlet with only a shape adapter.
  2. Section the hair and work through methodically with a round brush.
  3. Hold the concentrator parallel to the hair shaft to direct airflow down the cuticle and reduce frizz.
  4. Finish each section with the cold shot to seal the cuticle, then keep the rear intake clean to protect the motor.

COMMON QUESTIONS

Good to Know

No. This is the 220–240V European model with a European plug, and Canadian outlets are 120V. A plug adapter only changes the pin shape, not the voltage — on 120V the dryer is badly underpowered and forcing it can damage the motor. Use it on a 220–240V supply or with a step-up voltage transformer.
No, an adapter alone is not enough. A travel adapter only reshapes the pins so they fit the socket; it does not raise 120V to the 220–240V this dryer needs. For Canadian use you need a step-up voltage transformer rated comfortably above 2,250W. Without one, it will not run properly.
Yes, in every respect except the electrics. It is a genuine Parlux Alyon — same Italian build, K-Advance Plus® motor, Air Ionizer Tech and lightweight body — configured for 220–240V with a European plug and rated at 2,250W rather than the Canadian 1875W. The styling performance and features are the same.
No single answer, but it suits specific clients: those relocating to or spending long stretches in Europe, anyone setting up a home on a 220–240V supply, and professionals who travel to work on European mains. If you dry your hair on Canadian outlets at home, the Canadian 1875W Alyon is the model you want instead.
Yes. The ioniser emits negative ions that neutralise the positive charge heat styling builds up in the hair — the charge behind static and flyaways. Neutralising it as you dry leaves hair smoother and more finished rather than just dry. Seal each section with the cold shot to lock the result.
