The first step of the HydraOne routine — a lightweight prep lotion that refreshes skin after cleansing, rebalances the hydrolipid barrier, and primes dry or sensitive skin to absorb everything that follows. Powered by Evagarden's Triple Action HydraOne Complex with prickly pear and wild pansy.
The Moda Team Review
Most people skip the step between cleansing and moisturising, and it is exactly the step that decides how well the rest of a routine works. HydraOne Lotion is that in-between: sweep it on after cleansing and it resets the skin's surface, restoring the hydrolipid balance a cleanser can strip and leaving the skin damp, soft and ready to drink in a serum. On its own it takes the tight, parched feeling out of dry skin; as a primer it makes the HydraOne Serum and Gel Cream noticeably more effective.
The formula leans on humectants (glycerin, pentylene glycol) to pull water into the skin, with prickly pear (Opuntia ficus-indica) callus and stem extract and wild pansy (Viola tricolor) to soothe and support a dry, reactive barrier. It is light and fast — no residue, no stickiness — which is why it layers so cleanly under the rest of the line.
Why We Stock It
Evagarden is an Italian cosmetics house (made in Italy, formulated in Switzerland), and HydraOne is their dedicated hydration system. We like the Lotion because it solves the one step most routines leave out — barrier prep — and because it is clean: paraben-free, D5-free and dermatologically tested.
Key Active Ingredients
-
Triple Action HydraOne Complex: Evagarden's signature hydration system, shared across the line to attract, hold and seal moisture.
-
Glycerin + Pentylene Glycol (humectants): draw water into the upper layers of the skin and help hold it there through the day.
-
Prickly Pear (Opuntia Ficus-Indica) callus & stem extract: soothing and antioxidant-rich support for a dry, stressed barrier.
-
Wild Pansy (Viola Tricolor) extract & Biosaccharide Gum-1: calm and condition sensitive skin while improving surface hydration.
Moda Pro Tip
Apply it to slightly damp skin, not bone-dry — press it in with your palms or sweep it on with a cotton pad, then go straight into your serum before it fully dries. Hydration layers best onto hydration; letting the skin dry out between steps is the most common reason a routine stops working.
Not the Right Fit If...
This is a hydration prep step, not an exfoliating or clarifying toner — if you are looking to decongest oily, breakout-prone skin, this is not that product. It is formulated with fragrance, so if your skin is highly fragrance-reactive, patch test first.
How To Use
- After cleansing, apply to a cotton pad and sweep over the face and neck, or press it in with your hands.
- Let it absorb for a moment while the skin is still slightly damp.
- Follow with HydraOne Serum, then HydraOne Gel Cream.
- Use morning and evening.
