Why we like it
The Moda Team Review
As a White Haven Kevin Murphy salon, Blonde Angel Wash is the toning shampoo we recommend for blonde clients who need pigment correction but hate how dry most purple shampoos leave their hair. The Lavender-forward formula conditions while it tones — which changes everything for fine colour-treated blondes who cannot afford to lose softness or volume from their cleanser.

The balayage client who comes in every 10 to 12 weeks and by week 6 is unhappy with her tone but not ready to book. Her hair is fine and she has tried purple shampoos before but they always leave her hair dry and rough. We switch her to Blonde Angel Wash alternated with Angel Wash — she tones twice a week, keeps her volume on other days, and arrives at her next appointment with hair that looks maintained rather than grown out. Kevin Murphy built the BLONDE ANGEL line on the same skincare-for-hair philosophy that runs through every KM product — high-quality conditioning ingredients alongside the functional actives. As a White Haven Kevin Murphy salon, this is the product we reach for first when blonde clients need tone maintenance without sacrificing condition.

What’s inside — and why it’s there
The ingredients worth knowing.
- Violet PigmentDeposits on the cortex during cleansing to neutralise yellow and orange tones — the same colour-wheel principle used in professional tone...
- Lavender ExtractProvides genuine conditioning during the cleansing step — what separates Blonde Angel Wash from drying violet shampoos.
- Sunflower ExtractAntioxidant protection at the cuticle surface to maintain integrity of colour-treated hair between services.
How to use
Use it the way we would.
- Apply to wet hair and work into scalp.
- Leave 1 to 3 minutes — shorter for porous hair, longer for more toning effect.
- Rinse thoroughly.
- Follow with Blonde Angel conditioner on mid-lengths and ends.
- Alternate with Angel Wash if your hair is fine — do not tone every wash unless needed.
Moda stylist tipAlternate with Angel Wash if your hair is fine or porous — you likely do not need toning every single wash day. Use when you see warmth creeping in, not on a rigid schedule.

Good to know.
The questions we hear most about this product. If yours isn’t here, a real stylist will answer.
Ask ModaHow long do I leave Blonde Angel Wash in, and how often should I use it?
Yes — leave it in for 1 to 3 minutes. Start at 1 minute if your hair is fine or porous, and work up if you want more toning. Kevin Murphy recommends up to 3 to 5 minutes for a stronger result. For frequency: most blondes use it 1 to 2 times per week and alternate with a regular shampoo on other wash days. Porous or heavily bleached hair grabs tone fast — watch how your hair responds and adjust.
What is the difference between Blonde Angel Wash and Angel Wash — can I use just one?
Different jobs. Angel Wash is a protein-rich volumising shampoo for fine colour-treated hair — it builds body and protects colour but does not correct tone. Blonde Angel Wash is a toning shampoo that corrects brassiness. For fine blonde hair, alternate: Blonde Angel Wash on toning days, Angel Wash on volume days. If your hair is not fine, Blonde Angel Wash can be your primary shampoo.
My ends keep turning purple after using violet shampoo. What am I doing wrong?
Porosity variation. Bleached ends absorb pigment faster than roots, so leaving the shampoo on for the same time across all of your hair overtones the ends. Apply at roots first, pull through ends, then rinse before ends have had the full contact time. Reducing overall contact time to 1 minute also helps on very porous hair.
Does Blonde Angel Wash work on grey hair, or just bleached blonde?
Yes — grey and silver hair benefits as much as bleached blonde. Grey hair goes yellow for the same reason blonde goes brassy: oxidation. The violet pigment neutralises that yellowing in both cases. Grey hair clients who want to stay silver and bright use Blonde Angel Wash exactly the same way blonde clients do.
Will Blonde Angel Wash turn my hair purple?
Only if you leave it on too long on very porous or platinum hair. At the recommended 1 to 3 minutes, Blonde Angel Wash neutralises brassiness without leaving a visible purple cast. If you do overtone, wash once more with your regular shampoo and the purple will dull down significantly. The fix is shorter contact time, not a different product.
