Yes — the Magic Sense Diffuser With Adapter is compatible with both the Parlux Alyon and the Parlux Digitalyon. The adapter is included in the box. It is not compatible with the Parlux ELYSIUM (use the MagicCompact® Diffuser for the ELYSIUM) or the Parlux Advance without checking compatibility.
Lowest speed and medium heat. High speed disrupts the curl pattern as it forms — it is the most common mistake when diffusing. Hover the diffuser bowl underneath sections rather than pressing it against the scalp for extended periods. Let the curl form inside the bowl, lift gently, and hold. Finish with a cool shot to lock definition and eliminate any remaining frizz.
Universal diffusers are designed to fit a wide range of dryers but are not optimised for any specific dryer's airflow volume or output pressure. The Magic Sense Diffuser is designed around the Alyon and Digitalyon's 84–88 m³/h airflow output — the bowl geometry, pin configuration, and airflow distribution are engineered for those motors specifically. The result is better definition and less frizz than a generic diffuser produces on the same dryer.
Before — apply curl cream or mousse to soaking wet hair before touching the diffuser. The product distributes most evenly through wet hair; waiting until the hair has started to dry means uneven application and less defined results. Apply product section by section, scrunch upward into the curl pattern, then attach the diffuser and begin drying.
Yes — the Magic Sense Diffuser works across wavy (2A–2C), curly (3A–3C), and coily (4A–4C) hair. The technique adjusts by curl type: wavy hair benefits from hovering the diffuser and minimal handling; tighter curls benefit from placing sections inside the bowl and lifting upward toward the scalp. Use Kevin Murphy KILLER.CURLS cream or Davines LOVE CURL Enhancing Milk as the pre-diffuse product for best definition results.
