Why Moda

Because we actually use them.

A brush can look almost identical online and behave completely differently in the hand. We dry, smooth, build volume and finish hair with these tools every day — so the Moda tool edit isn’t about carrying every dryer or brush we can find. It’s about carrying tools we can actually explain.

  • Used behind the chair — we work with professional tools every day.
  • We can help you choose — tell us about your hair and the result you want.
  • Professional options — tools selected for real styling needs, not shelf appeal.
  • Real tool education — size, technique and compatibility matter.

Electrical tools

A little different from shampoo.

Electrical tools have their own return and warranty considerations. Warranty details live on each product page, and where a manufacturer warranty applies we’ll point you to the right process.

Tools FAQ

Tool questions?

The ones we answer at the front desk every week.

  • What size round brush should I buy?

Start with hair length and how much bend you want. Short hair and fringes suit small 14–22mm barrels; classic blowouts on medium hair sit in the 28–35mm range; medium-to-long hair takes 38–43mm for volume with looser movement; and 52–53mm barrels give long or thick hair maximum volume with a smooth, polished finish.

  • Do I need a round brush or a paddle brush?

A round brush creates lift, bend, curl and volume — it shapes the hair as it dries. A paddle brush smooths, straightens, detangles and sections faster. Many blowouts use both: paddle to rough-dry and smooth, round to finish with shape.

  • Which brush is best for long hair?

Large and extra-large barrels — 43mm to 53mm — are built for long hair. Bigger sections dry faster and the finish stays smooth and loose rather than tightly bent. A paddle brush alongside makes detangling and rough-drying long hair much quicker.

  • Which tool is best for a smooth blowout?

Three things working together: a professional dryer with strong, even airflow, the right brush for your length (paddle for straight-smooth, large round for smooth with body), and heat protection applied before you start.

  • Which blowdryer should I choose?

The Parlux Alyon is the proven professional standard and the value pick. The Digitalyon is the step up — lighter, quieter, with more airflow. The POMO PM1 brings BLDC motor performance with a calibrated airflow-to-heat balance. The comparison above shows the verified specifications side by side.

  • What is the difference between Parlux and POMO?

Parlux is the established Italian professional brand — the Alyon runs a K-Advance Plus motor rated for 3,000 hours, and the Digitalyon is Parlux’s first digital-motor dryer at 395g. POMO is a newer brand whose PM1 uses a brushless BLDC motor at 440g and 75dB with a 2.6m cord and a 1-year manufacturer warranty. All three are 1875W Canadian spec.

  • Do I need a diffuser for curly hair?

A diffuser spreads the dryer’s airflow so curls dry gently in their natural pattern instead of being blasted straight into frizz. If you wear your hair curly or wavy and blow-dry it, a diffuser is the single most useful attachment you can own.

  • Will this diffuser fit my dryer?

Compatibility is listed on each diffuser’s product page — check it before you buy. The Parlux Magic Sense diffuser fits the Alyon and Digitalyon with its included adapter, and the MagicCompact diffuser pairs with the ELYSIUM. If you’re unsure, ask us with your dryer model.

  • Should I use heat protection with a blowdryer?

Always. A blow-dry primer or heat-protective spray on damp hair is the difference between styling your hair and slowly damaging it. It’s step one of every blowout we do in the salon.

  • What warranty comes with electrical tools?

Warranty coverage is set by the manufacturer and listed on each product page — the POMO PM1, for example, carries a 1-year manufacturer warranty. If something goes wrong with a tool you bought from us, contact us first and we’ll point you to the right process.

  • Can I return a blowdryer after using it?

Opened electrical tools are handled differently from regular haircare — a used dryer can’t come back as a standard return. Defects and failures go through the manufacturer’s warranty process, and we’ll help you with it. See our return + exchange policy for the details.

  • Can Moda help me choose?

That’s the whole point of this page. Tell us your hair length, texture and what you’re trying to do, and we’ll narrow it down to the dryer, brush or tool that makes sense — no guesswork, no upsell.

Professional hair tools at Moda

Chosen by people who actually use them.

Moda Salon carries professional hair tools we work with behind the chair every day — Parlux and POMO professional hair dryers, EVO and Shokunin round and paddle brushes, diffusers for curly hair, scalp tools and drying accessories. A professional blow dryer changes the speed, smoothness and heat stress of every blowout; the right professional round brush turns a home blow-dry into something closer to what you leave the salon with.

Every tool in this collection is one our stylists can explain: which barrel size suits your hair length, which dryer matches how you style, which diffuser fits which dryer. If you’re comparing hair brushes for blowouts, weighing a Parlux hair dryer against a POMO hair dryer, or building a home blowout kit from scratch, start with the guides above — or just ask us. We ship professional hair tools across Canada and the USA, duties paid.
