Normcore works as a system. The sea buckthorn in both formulas is doing the same conditioning work — through the cleanse and through the condition — and the combined result is noticeably more cohesive than using the shampoo with a different conditioner. The 1000ml format is the better buy for anyone who uses Normcore regularly: significantly better cost per wash, and it lasts long enough to commit to the system properly.

How To Use

  1. Shampoo: Apply to wet hair, lather through scalp and lengths. Leave 30–60 seconds. Rinse.
  2. Conditioner: Apply from mid-lengths to ends. Leave 1–2 minutes. Rinse.

With pumps if you can — dispensing a litre bottle without a pump in the shower is genuinely inconvenient. The pump makes it much easier to dispense the right amount cleanly. Alternatively, order the no-pump version and pick up the Amika Liter Pump Set separately.

For someone washing every 2–3 days, each 1000ml bottle typically lasts 3–5 months. Daily washers will go through it faster. Either way it’s significantly better value per wash than the 275ml.
Yes — Normcore is one of the lighter options in Amika’s range. For the conditioner specifically, apply mid-lengths to ends only and keep off the roots. If you need serious volume support, Amika Big Hit is a better-matched system.
