Both products work independently, but the bond-building actives compound when both are used together consistently — the shampoo repairs at the cleanse step, the conditioner continues it through conditioning. For clients starting OLAPLEX for the first time, this is the natural starting point: get the daily system right, then add Nº.3 weekly and Nº.8 once a week for the complete routine.

No — for fine hair, the Nº.4 FINE + Nº.5 FINE is the right system. The standard Nº.4 + Nº.5 have a richer moisture profile that can weigh fine hair down and reduce volume.
No — not instead, alongside. Nº.4P + Nº.5P are toning products used 1–2x per week, not every wash. The standard Nº.4 + Nº.5 are still the daily wash products. For a blonde client, having both systems and alternating is the recommended approach.
