Clarifying Shampoo earns its place in the Cezanne system because of what it makes possible, not what it does on its own. Before every Cezanne treatment at Moda, we use Clarifying Shampoo to open the cuticle and strip away anything that would interfere with treatment absorption — oil, dry shampoo, styling product, silicone residue, hard water deposits. A treatment applied over buildup does not penetrate correctly. This step is non-negotiable.
Outside of treatment prep, it is the product we reach for when a client's regular shampoo is no longer doing the job. Hair that feels heavy after washing, roots that go oily within a day of washing, styling products that are not landing the way they should — all signs that the shampoo is not clearing residue properly. Sodium Chloride-Free Formula: Safe for use on keratin-treated hair. Sodium chloride is one of the primary ingredients that strips smoothing treatment results — this formula excludes it entirely.

Use Clarifying Shampoo with intention, not as a default. If your hair is already dry, this is not the shampoo for a routine Tuesday wash. It is the tool for when your hair feels coated, heavy or dull and your regular routine is not cutting through. Leave the lather on for 1 to 2 minutes — the contact time matters for breaking down product residue. Follow immediately with a conditioner to restore moisture after the cleanse.
Not the Right Fit If...
If your hair is very dry or fragile, use this only when genuinely necessary and always follow with Perfect Moisture Conditioner or a nourishing treatment. Daily clarifying use will over-strip already dry hair.
How To Use
- Apply to wet hair and lather.
