The Damage Shield Shampoo exists for a specific reason: to protect the structural repair that K18PEPTIDE™ creates between washes. Most shampoos — including many professional formulas — alter the pH of the hair during cleansing in a way that can disrupt the environment the K18PEPTIDE™ needs to remain bonded effectively. The Damage Shield Shampoo maintains the correct pH range to preserve that bond while delivering a thorough, gentle cleanse.
It is not a repair shampoo — there is no K18PEPTIDE™ in it. The shampoo’s job is not to repair; it is to create the conditions that protect repair between applications of the mask. Used as part of the K18 system alongside the conditioner and leave-in mask, it extends the effective life of each mask application.
For clients who are not using K18 but want a gentle, colour-safe daily shampoo that produces minimal frizz and tangles, it also works on its own. The formula is sulfate-free and mild enough for daily use on colour-treated, chemically processed or sensitive hair.
