The Moda Take

NOURISHING Hair Building Pak

Davines Naturaltech NOURISHING Hair Building Pak is an intense reconstructing mask with Vegetal Keratin and Cupuassu Butter that rebuilds the internal hair structure, strengthens the fibre, and restores softness and shine to severely dry, damaged, or chemically processed hair.

The Moda Team Review: The Most Intensive NOURISHING Treatment in the Line

Within the NOURISHING family, there is a clear hierarchy: the Vegetarian Miracle Conditioner is the maintenance step, the Vegetarian Miracle Mask goes deeper, and the Hair Building Pak is the most intensive treatment of all. We use it in salon on the worst cases — hair that has been through multiple rounds of bleaching, hair that has lost most of its tensile strength, ends that break before they can grow. The Vegetal Keratin in this formula is designed to do structural work inside the hair cortex, not just coat the surface, and Cupuassu Butter seals everything in and restores the external manageability that severely damaged hair loses.

Davines designed this to be used as a pre-shampoo treatment: apply to dry hair, leave on for 20 minutes, then shampoo and condition as normal. This is not a standard conditioner. The pre-shampoo timing and dry application method is what allows the Vegetal Keratin to penetrate without the barrier of shampoo surfactants or dilution from water. Always follow with the NOURISHING Keratin Sealer after rinsing the Pak out — Davines specifies this to seal the rebuilt hair structure before drying and styling.

Key Active Ingredient

Vegetal Keratin (Hydrolyzed Rice Protein + Glycine + Lysine HCL) — A plant-derived structural protein complex formulated to physically reconstruct damaged hair fibre. In the Hair Building Pak, it penetrates the hair cortex during the leave-on period to fill in areas of structural damage and rebuild tensile strength. Davines combines it with Cupuassu Butter — a highly emollient, non-greasy butter from the Amazonian cupuassu fruit — to seal the rebuilt cortex and restore external softness and shine.

Moda Pro Tip

Apply to dry hair before the wash — not after. This is the critical step most people miss. Dry application allows the Vegetal Keratin to penetrate without being diluted or partially blocked by water. Section the hair, apply generously to the mid-lengths and ends, leave for 20 minutes, then shampoo and condition as normal. Using it as a regular post-shampoo mask significantly reduces how much structural work it can do.

How To Use

  1. Apply to dry, unwashed hair before the shower.
  2. Section hair and distribute evenly from roots to tips on lengths and ends.
  3. Cover with a warm towel or shower cap and leave for a minimum of 20 minutes.
  4. Rinse thoroughly with water only.
  5. Shampoo with NOURISHING Shampoo and rinse.
  6. Apply NOURISHING Vegetarian Miracle Conditioner or Mask on lengths.
  7. Finish with NOURISHING Keratin Sealer on towel-dried lengths — do not rinse.

COMMON QUESTIONS

Good to Know

It targets the hair's internal bond structure using the Biacidic Bond Complex, actively rebuilding broken disulfide bonds caused by oxidative damage from bleaching and colour. A standard mask conditions the surface; the Hair Building Pak rebuilds from within.
Davines recommends every 2–3 shampoos, or more frequently for heavily damaged hair. It's a treatment step used between regular washes — not a replacement for a daily conditioner.
No. The Hair Building Pak is a structural treatment and is always followed by the NOURISHING Vegetarian Miracle Conditioner (fine or fragile hair) or Vegetarian Miracle Mask (thick or unruly hair). These condition and finish the hair after the Pak has done its repair work.
Yes — it's specifically designed for hair compromised by oxidative processes like bleaching and colouring. The Biacidic Bond Complex directly targets the bond damage these services cause.
Yes. The formula contains Retinyl Palmitate (Vitamin A). Davines advises considering your total daily Vitamin A intake before use, in line with standard cosmetic labelling guidelines. Also contains eucalyptus oil — keep out of reach of children.
