Copper is one of the most beautiful hair colours — and one of the fastest to fade. The pigment molecules in copper and red tones are physically smaller than other colour molecules, which means they rinse out first, fastest, and most noticeably. Red Ocher is built to put back what shampooing takes away. It deposits a rich, copper-toned pigment that reads as bright, burnished copper — not orange, not red, but that specific warm metallic tone that makes copper hair look alive.
This is a mask for copper blondes specifically — light to medium copper, strawberry blonde, and bright copper highlights. If you're deeper into auburn or red-brown territory, the Red Lava Mask is the better pick for your level. Red Ocher is dialled for the lighter, brighter copper range where the fade is most visible and most frustrating.
Processing time is everything with this one. Five minutes refreshes the surface tone; ten to twelve minutes gives you a more saturated copper that shows up even in photographs. Copper hair is porous, especially at the ends — which is exactly why it fades so fast and why the pigment grips better here. Apply Red Ocher to towel-dried hair from ends to mid-lengths first, then bring through the roots last. If your roots are naturally darker or have more natural pigment, apply them for a shorter time. The ends need the most help and should get the most time.
