A heat-activated thickening cream for fine hair that uses blow-dryer heat to build structural body — not product weight — resulting in volume that holds through the day rather than collapsing by noon.
The Moda Team Review
Most volumising styling products work by depositing something on the hair shaft that creates the impression of body. The Full Thickening Blow-Dry Cream works differently: it contains heat-activated thickening polymers that use the blow-dryer's heat to build real structural body in the hair fibre during the drying process. The volume isn't an illusion that disappears when you run your fingers through the style — it's built into how the hair is sitting.
Applied to towel-dried hair before blow-drying, the cream is worked through root to tip and then dried section by section with a round brush. The combination of product and mechanical tension during drying is what creates lift that holds. Skipping the round brush and just diffusing gives a fraction of the result this cream is capable of.
Why Moda Carries This
The gap between a salon blowout and an at-home blowout for fine-haired clients is almost always technique plus this product. Our stylists use a specific root-up, heat-then-cool technique with a round brush that's hard to explain without demonstrating, but this cream is the product variable that makes both approaches work — and once clients learn the technique, this becomes a non-negotiable part of their routine.
Key Active Ingredients
-
Heat-activated thickening polymers: Undergo a structural change at blow-dryer temperatures, stiffening slightly to create a supportive scaffold around each hair fibre that holds volume in place after drying.
-
Healthy Hair Molecule (IQHC): Blocks humidity during and after blow-drying to prevent the atmospheric moisture that would flatten the volumised style.
Moda Pro Tip
Apply a slightly heavier amount specifically at the root zone and work lightly through the mid-lengths and ends — volume lives at the root, and the thickening polymers need concentration there to do their best work. The ends don't need the same weight of product and will look over-done if they get the same amount as the root.
Not the Right Fit If...
Not right for air-drying — the thickening technology requires blow-dryer heat to activate. On air-dried hair it adds some softness and mild control but produces none of the structural volume that makes it a salon staple.
How To Use
- Apply to towel-dried damp hair, heavier at the root zone and lighter through mid-lengths and ends.
- Work through with fingers or a brush for even distribution.
- Blow-dry with a round brush in sections, directing heat upward at the root to activate the volume.
