For hair that has gone noticeably brassy or needs a stronger cool-down, leave up to 5 minutes. Do not exceed 5 minutes — violet toning is cumulative, and over-toning very light blonde can leave a faint violet or lilac cast. If you are new to the product, start with 1–2 minutes and increase gradually on subsequent washes until you find the right level for your hair. You can always add more toning next time; removing an over-toned result is harder.
