The Wash and Rinse protect the colour. The Leave-In builds the hair underneath it. That combination is what makes the full system different from just using a gentler shampoo.

The client who has been balayaged and toned every 8 weeks for a few years and starts noticing her ends feel rough, she is seeing more breakage when she brushes, and her colour is still looking good but the hair itself is not. The Wash and Rinse are protecting the colour. The Leave-In is what she needs to address the structural side. We add it to her routine and within a few weeks the ends feel different — the bond-building is cumulative and it shows. Kevin Murphy developed the Everlasting Colour Leave-In specifically to extend the bond-building and colour protection from the salon service into the client's daily home routine. The KM.BOND protein technology was designed to work cumulatively — each application adds to the previous one. Clients can use this benefit too: applied before a gloss appointment, it helps the colour land evenly from roots to ends.

Ask ModaIs the Everlasting Colour Leave-In also a heat protectant, or just a colour treatment?
Yes — both. The ILLUMINATE Complex provides thermal protection during blow-drying and heat styling — confirmed by Kevin Murphy, not just a secondary claim. For colour-treated hair that is also heat-styled daily, the Leave-In covers both functions. If you blow-dry at very high heat every day, Heated Defense can be layered on top.
Do I need the Leave-In if I am already using the Everlasting Colour Wash and Rinse?
Yes — if your colour-treated hair is also experiencing breakage or losing elasticity. The Wash and Rinse protect the colour. The Leave-In adds bond-building through KM.BOND proteins that strengthen from within. If your hair is in good structural condition and colour protection is your only goal, the Wash and Rinse alone will serve you well.
How is this different from Olaplex or K18 bond repair treatments?
No — they serve different stages. Olaplex and K18 are intensive treatments designed to rebuild broken bonds after significant bleach damage. Everlasting Colour Leave-In is a daily maintenance bond-builder for ongoing colour care. They are not alternatives — for hair that needs intensive repair first, address that before adding daily maintenance.
Should I use the Leave-In every single wash day, or is it an occasional treatment?
Yes — Kevin Murphy recommends using it every time you shampoo and condition. The bond-building and colour protection benefit is cumulative; consistent daily use builds the hair's resistance over time. It is lightweight enough that daily use does not cause build-up or heaviness.
My hair has uneven porosity — will this help my colour apply more evenly?
Yes. Kevin Murphy specifically notes that Everlasting Colour Leave-In has porosity-equalising properties through its pH sealing technology.
