Why we like it
The Moda Team Review
Hydro Rush is the range we reach for when hair is dehydrated rather than damaged — rough, staticky, straw-like through a Canadian winter. Hyaluronic acid binds water inside the fibre the way it does in skin, and the three steps together keep that reservoir topped up so softness lasts between washes. Both wash products are full size, so this is a real daily routine, not a sampler.

The client who comes in every January describing her hair as "crunchy" — static in her toque, rough by lunchtime, no breakage but no softness either. That is dehydration from indoor heating and hot tools, and this is the routine that turns it around within a couple of weeks. Amika is a Brooklyn-born professional haircare brand built on vegan, cruelty-free formulas with sea buckthorn — a superfruit rich in omega-7 — in every product. We carry Amika as a retail line at Moda because the formulas are reliable, colour-safe, and genuinely pleasant to use. Part of the Holiday 2026 gift collection.

What’s inside — and why it’s there
The ingredients worth knowing.
- Hyaluronic acid
How to use
Use it the way we would.
- Hydro Rush Shampoo: Apply to wet hair, lather, rinse thoroughly.
- Hydro Rush Conditioner: Apply mid-lengths to ends, leave 2 minutes, rinse with cool water.
- Hydro Rush Leave-In: Small amount on damp hair mid-lengths to ends, comb through. Do not rinse.
Moda stylist tipLeave the conditioner on for the full two minutes and rinse with cool water — hyaluronic acid needs contact time to bind water, and the cool rinse closes the cuticle over it. Apply the leave-in while the hair is still damp: hyaluronic acid pulls moisture from its surroundings, so it works best with water already in the hair to hold onto.

Questions? We get them.
Good to know.
The questions we hear most about this product. If yours isn’t here, a real stylist will answer.
Ask ModaIs the leave-in in this set the full size?
No — the shampoo and conditioner are the full 275 ml retail sizes, and the leave-in is a 60 ml travel size. Used sparingly on mid-lengths and ends, 60 ml lasts several weeks, and the full-size leave-in is available separately when you want to restock.
My hair is thick but oily at the roots — will Hydro Rush make that worse?
No, as long as the conditioner and leave-in stay on mid-lengths and ends. The shampoo cleanses the scalp normally; it is the conditioning steps that add moisture, and they belong on the lengths that are actually dry. Hyaluronic acid is water-binding rather than oily, so it does not add grease.
Hyaluronic acid in hair — does it actually do anything, or is it a skincare buzzword?
Yes, it works in hair for the same reason it works in skin. Hyaluronic acid is a humectant that binds many times its weight in water. In the conditioner it is sealed under the cuticle; in the leave-in it keeps attracting moisture after the hair is dry. The result is hair that feels softer for longer between washes.
I already use the Hydro Rush mask weekly. Do I need the whole routine too?
Yes, if the softness from the mask fades within a day or two. The mask is an intensive weekly reset, but a stripping daily shampoo undoes it. This set replaces the daily wash with one that adds moisture, so the mask's results hold through the week instead of resetting every wash.
Can I use this on hair with fresh balayage without dulling the colour?
Yes. The shampoo is sulphate-free, which is the key to protecting fresh colour, and the whole range is formulated colour-safe. Freshly lightened hair is often more porous and dries out faster, so a hydrating routine like this usually improves how the balayage looks by restoring shine and softness.
