Keep the conditioner from the ears down; Normcore is light, but fine hair still does not need it at the root. One drop of the oil on damp ends before drying is enough.

Ask ModaIs Normcore too light for thick or coarse hair?
No for healthy thick hair — it cleanses and softens well on any texture. But if thick hair is also dry or rough, the conditioner may not deliver enough moisture on its own; the Hydro Rush set or a weekly Soulfood mask alongside Normcore is the better route for coarse, thirsty hair.
The oil is only 20 ml — is it worth it?
Yes. Superfruit Star is used a drop or two at a time, so 20 ml is roughly six to eight weeks of daily use on the ends. It is the same formula as the full-size bottle, which makes it a proper trial rather than a sample — and a handy size to keep in a gym or travel bag.
Does Normcore have the signature Amika scent?
Yes. Normcore carries the Amika signature fragrance — the one clients most often ask about at the front desk — in both the shampoo and conditioner. It is noticeable while washing and lingers softly once the hair is dry rather than overpowering, and the Superfruit Star oil layers the same scent lightly on the ends.
I wash my hair every day — will a sulphate-free shampoo clean it properly?
Yes. Sulphate-free means a gentler surfactant, not a weaker one — Normcore removes daily oil and product without stripping the cuticle's natural lipids, which is exactly what daily washers need to avoid dryness. If you use a lot of dry shampoo or styling product, do a quick first lather to loosen it and a second to clean.
I'm buying this as a gift and don't know their hair type — is it a safe pick?
Yes, this is the safest Amika set to gift blind. Normcore is formulated for all hair types, it is colour-safe and sulphate-free, and the lightweight conditioner will not weigh down fine hair. The only person it under-serves is someone with very dry or damaged hair, who would get more from the Hydro Rush or Kure sets.
