- MELU Shampoo: Apply to wet hair, massage from scalp through lengths, rinse.
- MELU Conditioner: Apply ends upward to mid-lengths. Comb through. Leave 5–10 minutes. Cool water rinse.
- MELU Spray: 10–20 sprays to towel-blotted damp hair, mid-lengths to ends. Do not rinse. Blow-dry or air-dry. Heat protection to 230°C.

Clinical testing on 20 participants with split ends and brittle hair, 4 weeks: -39% breakage from brushing and -37% split ends. These are system results from the full MELU routine used together — individual products don't replicate them in isolation. All three products in this set are required to achieve these results.
Why does the Conditioner have a different ingredient from the Shampoo and Spray?
All three share ROC Black Chickpea Extract as the core protective ingredient. The Conditioner also contains Villalba Lentil Seed Extract — a Slow Food Presidium heritage variety from Sicily — rich in serine and glutamic acid, the primary amino acids in keratin. This makes the condition step genuinely reparative at a structural level rather than just providing slip for detangling.
Why do I apply the Conditioner from ends upward rather than roots down?
Applying roots-down drags fragile hair through tangles concentrated at mid-lengths and ends — exactly the mechanical friction that causes breakage. Applying ends-upward means the most vulnerable sections get conditioner first, and you detangle upward gently. Critical for long or fragile hair where ends are the oldest, most compromised section.
Can the MELU Spray be used on non-wash days?
Yes — 5–8 sprays to dry hair before brushing on non-wash days extends anti-breakage protection without re-washing. Particularly useful for long hair that tangles overnight. The anti-pollution shield is also active on dry hair throughout the day.
Is the MELU SET suitable as a gift?
Yes — it contains a complete system with documented clinical results. The recipient has everything from the first wash. To also address split ends specifically, adding the Davines MELU Serum (applied to ends after the Conditioner) completes the full clinical protocol that produced the -37% split ends result.
