Yes, it is different. A leave-in goes on damp hair on wash day. The Style Refresh Mist goes on dry hair between washes — it re-lays the humidity block, softens overnight creasing, and revives shape without wetting or weighing the hair. Think of it as a reset for the lengths, the way dry shampoo is for the roots.
Is Advanced Clean too strong for a normal scalp?
No for normal-to-oily scalps — it simply lasts longer. For dry or sensitive scalps, yes, it can feel over-stripping, and the original PhD Dry Shampoo in the Classic Clean Set is the gentler fit.
Can I use the mist on curly or wavy hair to refresh the pattern?
Yes. Mist through the lengths, scrunch upward, and let it settle — it re-softens and re-groups waves that have separated overnight. For tight curls that need water to reset fully, it helps but will not replace a wet refresh; for waves and loose curls it usually is enough.
How many days can I stretch between washes with these two?
Yes, most clients get to day three comfortably, some to day four. Advanced Clean handles the roots for one or two refreshes; the mist keeps the lengths presentable throughout. Beyond that, a wash is the honest answer — dry shampoo refreshes, it does not clean the scalp.
Can either product go in my carry-on?
No for the dry shampoo — 184 ml is an aerosol over the cabin limit and goes in checked luggage. The 148 ml mist is a non-aerosol spray but also over 100 ml, so it must be checked too. The 83 ml Advanced Clean is available separately for carry-on.
