Brown pigment is far less forgiving of uneven application than blonde - a missed panel underneath shows as a lighter, warmer stripe the moment you are in daylight, and it stays for four to ten washes. Ask ModaWill this cover my regrowth so my roots match the rest?
No. This deposits tone on hair that is already porous from colouring; virgin regrowth is dense and takes very little. It refreshes your existing colour through the lengths rather than matching new growth to it. A regrowth mismatch still needs a colour service.
My brown has gone orange at the ends. Will this actually cancel that?
Yes, partly. Basic Blue 99 sits opposite orange on the colour wheel and neutralises it, which is exactly what this shade is balanced to do. Heavy orange in very porous ends may need two applications across consecutive washes rather than one long one.
I'm a level 7. Will beige brown take me much darker than I want?
No, not at the short end. Level 7 is the top of this shade's range, so at three minutes you get tone and neutrality with only slight depth. If you want to stay bright, stop at three and repeat next wash rather than running the full ten minutes.
How do I choose between Beige Brown and Cacao?
Yes, they overlap, but they solve different problems. Beige Brown covers levels 2 to 7 and is about neutrality - depth without warmth. Cacao is rated 2 to 6 and is genuinely deep, for brown that has faded translucent rather than merely flat. Choose Cacao if you need level back, Beige Brown if you need tone back.
If I use it every wash, will it keep getting darker and build up?
No, not indefinitely. Cationic pigment binds to available sites on the hair surface, and once those are largely occupied further applications mostly replace what has washed away rather than stacking. You will reach a stable depth within two or three uses and hold there while you keep applying.
