No. 903 Ambient Fragrance Diffuser

DEPOT® does not specify an exact duration on its product materials — diffuser longevity depends on the number of reeds used, room temperature, airflow, and how often the reeds are turned. Typically, premium room diffusers of comparable size last 6–12 weeks. Using fewer reeds (4–5 rather than all provided) slows the diffusion rate and extends the lifespan.

A slightly elevated surface with some air circulation nearby — a bathroom shelf, hallway console, or bedside table — gives the best fragrance distribution. Avoid placement in direct sunlight or near heat sources, which accelerates evaporation without improving distribution. Avoid placement where the bottle could be knocked over — protect the surface beneath.

Start with 4–5 reeds rather than all of them. Fewer reeds means slower, more controlled diffusion that extends the product life and avoids an overpowering scent concentration in smaller spaces. If the scent is too subtle after 48 hours, add more reeds or turn existing ones more frequently. For a large space, more reeds give a stronger throw.

Turning the reeds once or twice a week refreshes the scent throw without significantly accelerating the evaporation rate. Turning too frequently (daily) speeds up how quickly the fragrance oil is used. When the reeds feel dry or the scent has reduced noticeably, turn them to bring the freshly soaked portion to the top.

No. 903 is most effective in enclosed or semi-enclosed spaces where the fragrance can accumulate — a bathroom, bedroom, hallway, or office. In a large open-plan space, the continuous diffusion is likely to be too subtle to fill the entire area. For larger spaces, multiple diffusers positioned around the room or combining No. 903 with No. 902 Spray for immediate coverage works better.
