The Firm Hold Gel has maximum all-day hold with a rigid set and high shine. The Texture Putty has super-strong pliable hold with a matte finish — it holds firmly but the hair still feels touchable and natural rather than rigid. Choose by finish preference as much as hold level.
I have fine thinning hair — will a matte putty make it look flat?
No — the matte finish actually helps fine hair look fuller. Shine draws attention to gaps in density and emphasises the scalp showing through. Matte hold creates the appearance of more texture and density. Apply to dry hair and work through with fingertips to create separation.
How much should I use?
Less than you think. A pea-sized amount for short hair, a little more for medium styles. The hold is strong and over-applying is hard to undo without rewashing. Warm fully between palms first, then apply in sections rather than all at once.
Can I rework my style with the Texture Putty?
Yes — pliable hold means it can be reshaped through the day without going crunchy. It is not as easily reworkable as the Styling Mud, but significantly more so than the Firm Hold Gel.
Will it build up if I use it every day?
No — water-soluble formula rinses clean with shampoo. No petrolatum or mineral oil.
