A small amount — roughly the size of a large pea — is sufficient for a full face shave when worked into foam with a wet brush. No. 404 lathers efficiently and a little product generates enough coverage. At correct usage rates, a 125ml tube typically lasts 4–6 weeks of daily shaving.
Yes — No. 404 is particularly well-suited to precision edge work around a beard or moustache. DEPOT® specifically notes that its deliberate foam level allows precise shaving on smaller areas. The moderate foam gives good razor visibility while still protecting the skin, which is essential when working around beard lines.
For very sensitive skin, the Menthol and Eucalyptol may create a cooling sensation that some mistake for irritation. These are functional skin-conditioning and refreshing actives rather than harsh chemicals.
