For updos, hold the can 15–20cm away and build in light layers rather than one heavy coat. It brushes out, so you can still adjust after spraying.

Ask ModaHow is the Finishing Spray different from the Extreme and Styling sprays?
Yes — it sits in the middle of the range. The Finishing Spray is 4/5 hold: stronger than the Styling Spray (2/5, light and used during styling) but lighter than the Extreme Spray (5/5, maximum hold that's hard to brush out). Its signature is strong hold that still brushes out easily, so it's the versatile everyday finisher — firm enough to last, soft enough to reshape. Choose Extreme when you need a style locked hard (weddings, updos that can't move); choose Finishing for strong, natural, everyday hold.
How do I use it on curls without them going crunchy?
The trick is to spray only on the curls themselves, not all over the hair. Mist the Finishing Spray directly onto the individual curls or sections you want to hold, and leave the rest of the hair unsprayed. This keeps the curl shape in place while letting the hair keep its natural movement and bounce, so the overall look stays soft rather than stiff. Since it brushes out, you can also gently scrunch or separate afterwards if needed.
Will it flake or feel sticky?
No — used correctly it gives a clean, strong hold without flaking or stickiness. Hold the can about 15–20cm from the hair and apply in light layers rather than one heavy blast, which prevents build-up and wet patches. Because it's designed to brush out, it doesn't set into a hard, flaky shell the way some strong sprays do.
Is it safe for colour-treated hair?
Yes — like all four Maria Nila hairsprays, it's colour-safe and includes the Colour Guard Complex, which protects colour from fading caused by UV and free radicals. It's 100% vegan too, so you can finish and hold colour-treated styles without worrying about fade.
