Ask ModaIs Motion Lotion lighter than Killer Twirls for wavy hair?
Yes — Motion Lotion is a liquid lotion that absorbs completely into the hair, making it the lighter option. Killer Twirls is a crème with Shea Butter that has more weight and conditioning. For very fine wavy hair, Motion Lotion. For all wave textures including fine, Killer Twirls used sparingly. Both work on wavy hair; the choice is based on density and how much product the hair can handle.
Can Motion Lotion be used on thick curly hair, or is it only for fine hair?
Yes — it works on thick curly hair as a lightweight first layer before a heavier styler. Kevin Murphy positions it for long or fine hair primarily, but on thick curly hair it can be used as the base layer with Killer Curls cream on top for a complete curl routine.
Does Motion Lotion provide enough hold for curls to last all day?
Yes — for fine and looser wave patterns, the flexible hold from the VP/VA Copolymer in the formula provides day-long definition. For tighter curl patterns that need stronger hold, layer Motion Lotion with a heavier styler like Killer Curls cream for more lasting shape.
Is Motion Lotion a heat protectant as well as a curl styler?
No — Motion Lotion is a curl defining lotion, not a dedicated heat protectant. For diffusing or heat styling, add Killer Curls cream (heat protection to 216°C) or Heated Defense (to 232°C) to the routine. Motion Lotion on its own is best suited to air-drying.
What makes Motion Lotion different from Killer Waves for fine wavy hair?
Yes — different delivery and purpose. Killer Waves is an invisible spray designed to be completely undetectable in the hair, primarily for frizz reduction and wave enhancement. Motion Lotion is a lotion with more styling hold and botanical oil benefits from Sesame, Bergamot, Geranium and Patchouli. For the lightest, most invisible touch on fine waves, Killer Waves. For more defined styling hold with nourishing botanicals, Motion Lotion.
