Start small and build. On medium hair, one small pump through the mid-lengths and ends is usually enough. On thicker or drier hair, two pumps distributed in sections gives better coverage. Adding too much leave-in is the most common reason it feels heavy — distribute it well through damp hair before reaching for more.
