Ask ModaWill Smooth Again Wash make my thick hair feel heavy or greasy?
No — for thick, coarse hair the butter and oil content is what the hair needs, not excess. Thick hair has a large internal cortex that absorbs moisture readily, so the Murumuru and Shea Butter content does not create heaviness; it creates the moisture saturation the hair needs to resist absorbing humidity from the environment. If your hair is fine, this shampoo would be too rich — but for thick coarse hair, it is calibrated correctly.
Is Smooth Again Wash safe for colour-treated thick hair?
Yes — it is sulphate-free and paraben-free. Kevin Murphy specifically includes Sunflower Seed Extract in the formula for its ability to help prevent colour stripping during the wash. The smooth and nourishing formula is gentle enough for colour-treated hair while still being rich enough to address the frizz concerns of thick, coarse hair.
Do I need the full SMOOTH regimen or can I just use the Wash on its own?
