Why we like it
The Moda Team Review
This is the product we send home with almost every colour-treated client who doesn't already have a leave-in repair step. The Biomimetic Botanical Filler does structural work — not just surface coating — and the 7-week colour vibrancy is something we see bear out on clients who use it consistently. The pump format means precise amount control, which matters for the fine-haired clients who need this most.

The client who highlights every 6 weeks and comes back between appointments with colour that's already fading and ends that feel progressively drier with each visit. She uses a good shampoo and conditioner but has no leave-in repair. We add the Beautiful Things Leave-In Mask to her routine. By the next appointment, her colour is more intact and her ends have noticeably more elasticity — the lipid restoration is doing its job between visits. The Beautiful Things Restoring Leave-In Mask is from Davines' There Must Be An Angel line — an extension of the HOG system designed specifically for colour-treated and lightened hair. Davines positions it as compatible with and complementary to the HOG routine. We are a Platinum Davines salon and carry the full There Must Be An Angel line.

How to use
Use it the way we would.
- After shampooing and conditioning, rinse conditioner thoroughly. Remove excess water — towel-dry or squeeze gently. Apply pumps to palm: 1–2 (fine/short), 3–4 (medium), 5–7 (thick/long). Apply from mid-lengths to ends. Comb through. Do not rinse. Blow-dry, diffuse, or air-dry as usual.
Moda stylist tipApply to noticeably damp — not just towel-dried — hair for even distribution. Use the pump for precise control: 1–2 pumps for fine or short hair, 3–4 for medium, 5–7 for thick or long. Comb through immediately after applying for even coverage. Do not rinse. Style as desired.

Questions? We get them.
Good to know.
The questions we hear most about this product. If yours isn’t here, a real stylist will answer.
Ask ModaIs this a rinse-out or leave-in?
Leave-in — apply to damp mid-lengths and ends after conditioning and do not rinse. Suitable after every wash. The product is called a "mask" in the Davines lineup but it functions as a leave-in treatment — it stays in the hair through blow-drying, diffusing, or air-drying.
Is this product only for blonde hair?
No — the Beautiful Things Restoring Leave-In Mask is formulated for all colour-treated or lightened hair: blonde, brunette, red, and grey. It's frequently paired with HOG products for blonde clients, but the Biomimetic Botanical Filler, lipid restoration, and colour vibrancy claims apply across all colour-treated hair types.
How many pumps should I use?
Start with fewer than you think you need: 1–2 pumps for fine or short hair, 3–4 for medium length and density, 5–7 for thick or long hair. Apply to mid-lengths and ends only. Comb through for even distribution. The pump makes it easy to control amount precisely — build from a small application rather than starting with too much.
How does this interact with the Heart of Glass system?
It's fully compatible and complementary. Davines positions the Beautiful Things Leave-In Mask as a recommended part of the HOG routine on their own site — it's the leave-in restoration step that HOG doesn't include internally. HOG products handle the in-shower chelating, bond repair, and tonal balancing; the Leave-In Mask handles the post-shower structural restoration and heat protection.
Does the Beautiful Things Restoring Leave-In Mask contain Vitamin A?
No — the Beautiful Things Restoring Leave-In Mask does not contain Retinyl Palmitate (Vitamin A). The HOG Rich Conditioner does contain Vitamin A — if you're using both in the same routine, only the conditioner carries the Vitamin A advisory.
