The client who has been balayage every 8 weeks for years, uses Angel Wash and Rinse daily, and comes in saying her ends always feel rough and she is noticing more breakage when she brushes. The Rinse is not enough for the accumulation of processing damage. We add the Masque twice a week and ask her to commit to the 5-minute warm towel routine. By the next visit the breakage is noticeably reduced and the ends feel different. Kevin Murphy designed the ANGEL Masque as an intensification of the daily ANGEL routine, not a separate product category. It uses the same protein and antioxidant logic as the Wash and Rinse, just at higher concentration over longer contact time. As a White Haven salon, we recommend it as the natural next step for clients whose daily ANGEL routine is not quite enough — not a replacement, an escalation.

- Comb through with a wide-tooth comb.

- Rinse thoroughly with cool water.
- Use once or twice weekly in place of Angel Rinse.

Ask ModaIs Angel Masque a replacement for Angel Rinse, or do I use both?
No — on masque days, Angel Masque replaces Angel Rinse. Use one or the other on any given wash, not both. The Rinse is the daily step: lightweight, 1 to 2 minutes, every wash. The Masque is the weekly treatment: higher protein concentration, 5 minutes with a warm towel, once or twice a week. Most clients do Rinse daily and swap to Masque on days when they have five minutes.
My fine hair is prone to protein overload — will using a protein masque once a week cause that?
No, at once or twice a week. Protein overload on fine hair comes from daily heavy protein treatments. Angel Masque used weekly alongside Angel Rinse daily is within the range fine hair handles well. If you notice the hair feels stiffer or less elastic after a few weeks, reduce to once weekly and let us know at your next appointment.
Can I use Angel Masque on the same day as a bond builder treatment at the salon?
Yes. Angel Masque and bond-building treatments address different aspects of hair structure and do not interfere with each other. The protein in the Masque works on the cuticle and cortex surface; bond builders work at the disulphide bond level. If you are unsure about your specific service, ask your Moda stylist.
Is Angel Masque the same as BLONDE ANGEL Masque or are they different products?
Different products with different jobs. Angel Masque is a protein repair and strengthening treatment for fine hair in the ANGEL (volume) line. BLONDE ANGEL Treatment is a toning conditioner in the BLONDE ANGEL line specifically for blonde, highlighted and grey hair. They are not interchangeable — Angel Masque does not tone, and BLONDE ANGEL does not do deep protein repair.
Does the warm towel wrap actually make a difference with a 5-minute masque?
Yes, measurably. Heat opens the cuticle and allows the protein to penetrate the cortex rather than sitting on the surface. Five minutes under a warm towel delivers repair that lasts through the week. Without it, most of the protein work stays at the surface and rinses away.
