How to use
Use it the way we would.
- Shampoo and towel-dry.
- Wear gloves. Apply alone, or blend with a pigmented Cromearth mask to soften its tone.
- Distribute evenly with a brush, combing through to the ends.
- Leave on 10-20 minutes, then emulsify and rinse thoroughly.
Moda stylist tipFor the best gloss result, process for 10–12 minutes and rinse with the coldest water you can stand. Follow with a pump of Opuntia Oil on damp hair before blow-drying. Cold water seals the cuticle flat; the oil fills the remaining gaps. The shine is visible even in photos.

Ask ModaHow is Neutral Mask different from all the other Cromearth masks? Why do I need this one?
Every other Cromearth mask has a specific pigment that shifts or corrects tone. Neutral Mask has no pigment at all — it delivers the same deep conditioning and colour protection without any colour deposit. You use it on weeks when your colour is already where you want it and you just need treatment. It prevents over-correction.
Can I use RICA Cromearth Neutral Mask every week, or should I alternate with a pigment mask?
You can use it as often as you like — there's no risk of over-use since it contains no pigment. A good approach is alternating: use your pigment mask one week for correction, then Neutral Mask the following week for conditioning maintenance. Adjust based on how quickly your colour shifts.
My hair is very damaged from bleaching. Will Neutral Mask actually improve the condition?
Yes — the restructuring complex in the Cromearth base is designed specifically for chemically processed hair. It penetrates the cortex to rebuild internal bonds, which is the same damage mechanism bleaching causes. Used weekly, you'll notice improved elasticity, softness, and reduced breakage. It's intensive enough for heavily bleached hair without being too heavy for more typical colour-treated hair.
Is Neutral Mask suitable for natural hair that hasn't been coloured?
Yes — it's the only Cromearth mask that works just as well on natural hair as on colour-treated. There's no pigment to interfere with your natural tone, just conditioning, shine, and colour protection. For natural hair wanting a deep treatment, Neutral Mask followed by Opuntia Oil is a very effective weekly routine.
I'm new to the Cromearth system. Should I start with a pigment mask or the Neutral Mask?
Start with the Neutral Mask if you're unsure about which pigment mask you need — it lets you experience the conditioning base without committing to a tone shift. Once you understand how your hair responds to the Cromearth formula, add the pigment mask best suited to your colour concern.
