Yes — reworkability is No. 303's defining characteristic. The Coconut oil base forms a flexible film that allows reworking without the style breaking down. Dampen your hands slightly and work them through to reactivate the hold completely. This is intentional in the formulation, not a workaround.
How does No. 303 compare to No. 301 Matt Paste in terms of hold strength?
No. 301 is significantly stronger — it's a firm, strong-hold paste. No. 303 is a flexible, medium hold wax designed for styles that need to move and be reworked rather than stay locked. Choose No. 303 for texture and flexibility; choose No. 301 when you need a style to stay precisely in place all day without touching.
Will No. 303 leave a greasy or shiny finish? I want a natural, undone look.
No. No. 303 delivers a natural finish rather than a shiny or greasy one. The Coconut oil base is non-greasy — it forms a lightweight flexible film rather than a coating. The result is a natural, lived-in texture rather than a polished or wet-look finish.
I have very thick hair. Will No. 303 give me enough hold or will it just disappear into my hair?
For very thick or coarse hair, No. 303 may not provide sufficient hold on its own. Apply to towel-dried hair rather than dry for slightly more control, or layer a small amount of No. 301 Matt Paste through the sections needing more hold while using No. 303 for texture overall.
Does No. 303 build up over multiple days without washing? I don't wash my hair every day.
Minimal buildup — the Coconut oil base and water-soluble formula are designed to remain reworkable rather than accumulate. Day two styling can be refreshed with damp hands. By day three without washing, most clients find a small additional amount helps restore the hold. One thorough shampoo with No. 101 removes it completely.
