Yes — 100% natural and 100% organically grown ingredients, with no mineral oils, silicones or synthetic additives. The formula is certified as part of Davines' organic sustainability programme. The 30% Safflower Oil is the dominant active ingredient rather than a trace addition.
No — Safflower Oil is a dry oil with a very low comedogenic rating and a fast absorption rate. It doesn't leave the greasy surface residue that heavier plant oils like coconut or argan can. On fine hair, 2 drops through damp ends is sufficient; on skin, it absorbs fully within minutes of application to damp skin.
Davines formulates it for face use. Safflower Oil is particularly beneficial for dry and normal skin types — its high linoleic acid content supports the skin barrier without blocking pores. For oily or acne-prone skin, patch test first; linoleic-rich oils are generally considered lower-risk for congestion than oleic-dominant oils like olive.
OI Oil is formulated specifically for hair — Roucou Oil gives it an intense shine and softness result that makes it one of the most consistently recommended hair oils in the range. The Authentic Nourishing Oil is the versatile organic option for clients who want one product for hair, skin and face. Both are excellent on hair; OI Oil is the more focused hair-specific choice.
At 2–3 drops per hair application and a similar amount for skin, a standard bottle provides 50–100+ uses depending on application frequency and the areas treated. The highly concentrated Safflower formula means a small amount goes significantly further than heavier oils that require more product to achieve the same result.
