- Conventional dry shampoo relies on starch to absorb sebum and fragrance to cover odour; neither removes anything, and both build up. PolyBeta is a patented polymer that binds sebum and the volatile odour compounds it carries so they can be brushed out of the hair, leaving the scalp cleaner rather than coated. How to use
Use it the way we would.
- Shake well. Spray at roots from 15–20 cm, in sections.
- Wait 30 seconds, massage in with fingertips, brush through.

Does it leave white residue on dark hair?
No. PhD is not starch-based, so there is no chalky cast on brunette or black hair once it is brushed through. Wait the full thirty seconds before massaging in — that is the step people skip when they see residue.
What's the difference between this and the Advanced Clean version?
No difference in finish — the Advanced Clean has a higher concentration of the cleaning technology for oilier scalps or longer gaps between washes. The original in this set is the right pick for a normal scalp; it is gentler if your scalp runs dry.
How long does a 184 ml can last?
Yes, roughly six to eight weeks at two or three uses a week, so the set is about three to four months of refreshes. Heavy daily users will get through it faster, which is exactly who this twin pack is for.
Can I take a can on a plane?
No, not in carry-on — 184 ml is an aerosol over the 100 ml cabin limit and must go in checked baggage. The 83 ml PhD Dry Shampoo is available separately for carry-on travel.
