How to use
Use it the way we would.
- After shampooing, apply to wet scalp and massage for two minutes. Leave on for three minutes. Rinse thoroughly. Use weekly. Follow with Scalp Rescue leave-in while scalp is still receptive.

Ask ModaI shampoo daily — why would I need a separate scalp exfoliator?
Shampoo removes surface oil and dirt. It does not effectively remove the dead skin cell accumulation and product residue that builds up at the scalp over time. The Exfoliating Treatment does — weekly application clears this buildup and allows other scalp treatments to actually reach the follicle rather than sitting on top of debris.
Will the charcoal dry out my scalp?
No — the formula is a conditioning treatment, not a drying scrub. The finely milled charcoal provides gentle mechanical exfoliation while the ProAmino Peptide Complex™ and Aloe base condition and soothe simultaneously. It is used weekly, which is appropriate for scalp exfoliation without over-stripping.
Should I use this before or after the Scalp Rescue?
Before. Exfoliating Treatment is weekly and rinses out — use it after shampooing, then rinse. Scalp Rescue is a daily leave-in applied after washing. On days you use the Exfoliating Treatment, apply Scalp Rescue immediately after rinsing while the scalp is still receptive.
How often should I use the Exfoliating Treatment?
Weekly for most men. If your scalp is particularly congested or you use heavy styling products daily, twice weekly is fine. Daily use is too frequent — over-exfoliation strips the scalp of the oils it needs to maintain a healthy environment.
I have a sensitive scalp — is charcoal exfoliation going to irritate it?
The charcoal is finely milled — it is not a coarse physical scrub. The formula is a conditioning treatment that also exfoliates, with an Aloe base specifically for its anti-inflammatory properties. Sensitive scalps typically respond well. If you have an active scalp condition (dermatitis, psoriasis), confirm with a dermatologist before adding exfoliation.
