Start with a pea-sized amount — smaller than you think. Warm it between palms until it disappears, then apply with fingertips rather than full palm — fingertip application gives far more control over exactly where the texture goes. Work the ends first, then the outer sections, and leave the root zone almost entirely untouched. The defined look comes from ends and sections, not from coverage at the root.
