Yes — the OI Hand Balm contains Sweet Almond Oil (Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis) and Walnut Seed Extract (Juglans Regia). The OI Hand Oil contains Sweet Almond Oil (Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis). Do not use or gift this set to anyone with a nut allergy. The OI Shampoo, OI Conditioner, OI All In One Milk, OI Body Wash, LOVE SMOOTHING Instant Mask, and This Is A Primer do not contain nut-derived ingredients.
What is the OI Hand Oil and how is it different from the OI Hand Balm?
The OI Hand Balm is a cream-format moisturiser for everyday hand hydration and softness — the classic hand cream step. The OI Hand Oil is a lightweight dry oil specifically formulated for intensive cuticle and nail nourishment with rapid absorption and no residue. Applied with a dropper (2–3 drops to the cuticles and nail bed), it penetrates quickly without greasiness. The two are complementary: Hand Balm for softness throughout the day; Hand Oil as the intensive cuticle treatment step. Both contain Sweet Almond Oil — not for nut allergy sufferers.
What is the difference between This Is A Primer and the OI All In One Milk?
They work at different stages and do different things. This Is A Primer is applied first to towel-dried damp hair — it is a blow-dry base that smooths the hair and provides heat protection, creating the foundation for a polished blow-dry. The OI All In One Milk is applied after the Primer and is a multi-function leave-in for softness, frizz control, detangling, shine, and additional heat protection to 230°C. The Primer sets up the blow-dry; the Milk protects and finishes it. Use both for the most complete result; use the Milk alone on days without a blow-dry.
Is this a good set for someone who hasn't tried OI before?
Yes — the OI Shampoo and Conditioner minis (50ml and 75ml) will last approximately 8–12 washes depending on hair length, which is enough to know how your hair responds to Roucou Oil before committing to full sizes. The LOVE SMOOTHING Mask and This Is A Primer are from different Davines systems and introduce two additional product types beyond the OI core routine. All five hair products are travel or promo size.
What is the 'Original Formulation' note on the LOVE SMOOTHING Mask?
Davines reformulated the LOVE SMOOTHING range to use Regenerative Organic Certified™ White Rose Hip Oil. The mask in this set is the original formulation — the pre-reformulation version. Both deliver the core LOVE SMOOTHING result: 30-second frizz control and smoothness. The new formula with ROC White Rose Hip Oil is available in the full-size LOVE SMOOTHING Instant Mask 250ml.
