How to use
Use it the way we would.
- Put on gloves (non-negotiable). Shampoo and squeeze out excess water. Apply evenly through hair. Leave 2–5 min on first use. Rinse well. Use a darker towel.
Moda stylist tipGloves are mandatory with Red — the pigment stains. For the deepest, most even result, apply to dry hair before shampooing and leave 5 minutes. Shampoo afterwards controls the intensity. This is the professional approach and gives a noticeably better result than post-shampoo application.

Ask ModaWhy does red hair fade so much faster than other colours?
Red pigment molecules are the largest in the colour spectrum, which means they sit on the surface of the cuticle rather than penetrating deeply. They wash out with each shampoo, and heat, UV and water temperature all accelerate the process. This is not a product quality issue — it is chemistry. Fabuloso Red replaces what is lost with each wash.
I skipped the gloves and now my hands are stained. How do I remove it?
Washing immediately with soap and warm water removes most of it while it is still wet. Once dry, it takes a few days to fade from skin naturally. A paste of baking soda and dish soap can help speed it up. Going forward — gloves, every time, no exceptions.
How often should I use Fabuloso Red to maintain my colour?
Every wash for the first two to three weeks to rebuild tone, then every one to two washes to maintain. Red fades fastest of all the Fabuloso shades so consistent use matters more here than with any other tone in the range.
Will this work on my naturally dark red hair, or do I need to have had professional colour first?
The pigment deposits most visibly on hair that has been lifted or chemically treated. On naturally dark hair with no lightening, the colour deposit may be subtle or invisible. On naturally red hair that has been professionally coloured, the result will be clearly visible. If your natural hair is already a warm or auburn red, a short processing time will still add noticeable depth and gloss.
The 30 ml is $13 and the 220 ml is $41. Should I start with the mini?
Yes, if you have never used a colour-depositing conditioner before. Red is one of the most intense shades in the Fabuloso range and the 30 ml gives you two to three uses to learn your timing before committing to the 220 ml. Once you know how your hair responds, the 220 ml is significantly better value per wash.
