Yes — think of it as a chemical exfoliant for your scalp, the same way a glycolic acid product exfoliates facial skin. Applied to the scalp before shampooing and left for 10 minutes, its 5% Glycolic Acid and AHA acids dissolve and lift away dead skin cells, flakes, product build-up, and excess oil, and unblock the follicles. This deep exfoliation resets the scalp to a clean, balanced, healthy state, which is the foundation for healthy hair. It's dermatologically tested, with 91% of users feeling reduced build-up and greasiness.
Will the acids dry out or irritate my scalp?
No — it's specifically formulated to exfoliate deeply while maintaining the scalp's moisture, not strip it. Alongside the acids, it contains Aloe Vera (soothing), Peppermint (cooling and calming), Provitamin B5, and Glacier Water (hydrating), so it treats the scalp gently. It's dermatologically tested, and in fact 73% of users felt increased scalp health. If you have a broken or very irritated scalp, wait until it's healed before using acids, and do a patch test if you're sensitive.
How often should I use it?
Use it according to your needs — about once a month for general maintenance, or more often if you have persistent flaking, itchiness, or an oily scalp. The Purifying Cleanse Exfoliating Serum is a rinse-out exfoliating treatment: you apply it before shampooing, leave 10 minutes, and rinse, to deep-clean and exfoliate the scalp periodically. The Head & Hair Heal Soothing Serum is a leave-in you can use daily to soothe and hydrate a dry, itchy scalp on an ongoing basis. Use the Exfoliating Serum for periodic deep cleansing and the Soothing Serum for daily comfort — they complement each other.
