They are not washing daily — their hair is just losing moisture faster than a three-day wash cycle can replenish it. We add Young Again Dry Conditioner to the mid-week routine: shake, spray mid-lengths to ends, comb. They report the deterioration stops and their hair is manageable through day five. Kevin Murphy added the Dry Conditioner to the REJUVENATE range to solve the gap in the regimen: wash-day results that do not last to the next wash. Ask ModaCan I use Young Again Dry Conditioner on damp hair, or only on completely dry hair?
No — Kevin Murphy specifies dry hair only. The formula is designed for a dry delivery system that distributes evenly on dry hair and dries quickly to a velvety finish. On damp hair it will not distribute the same way and the finish will be heavier. Apply after the hair is fully dry from your wash.
Does the Dry Conditioner add volume or just moisture?
No — it adds moisture, softness and manageability only. It does not build volume, lift or texture. Kevin Murphy describes it as a product that adds weightless moisture and increases manageability with a velvety finish. If you need volume or texture refresh, Doo Over (dry texture spray) or Fresh Hair (dry shampoo) are the right tools.
Do I need to shake it before every use?
Yes — every time. The formula separates between uses and the active oils distribute unevenly without shaking. One or two seconds of shaking before each use ensures the Immortelle, Babassu Oil and antioxidants distribute properly when sprayed. Skipping this step means some sprays deliver mostly propellant and others deliver a concentrate.
Can I use this on colour-treated hair between washes?
Yes — Kevin Murphy confirms it is safe for natural and colour-treated hair. The Sunflower Seed Extract is specifically noted for antioxidant protection against drying from sun exposure, which is particularly relevant for colour-treated hair that can fade and dry from UV exposure between appointments.
Can I use Young Again Dry Conditioner on top of the Treatment Oil, or is that too much product?
Yes — they can be layered, and Kevin Murphy includes both in the REJUVENATE regimen. Apply the Dry Conditioner first, wait for it to dry, then apply one pump of Treatment Oil through the mid-lengths and ends for added shine. The Dry Conditioner adds moisture; the Oil adds shine and finishing nourishment. Start with light quantities and adjust based on your hair’s density.
