- Wait 30 seconds, massage in, brush through.

Yes, the same formula. The cleaning technology, the humidity molecule, and the residue-free finish are identical to the standard Advanced Clean Dry Shampoo. Only the fragrance changes — Frosted Fig replaces the signature PhD scent for the holiday season.
How strong is the fig scent? I don't like heavily perfumed hair.
No, it is not heavy — it is a warm, soft fig that is noticeable on application and settles to a light trace once brushed through. If you prefer minimal fragrance, the standard Advanced Clean carries the lighter signature scent and is available year-round.
Will it be restocked after the holidays?
No. Frosted Fig is a limited Holiday 2026 edition and will not be restocked once our allocation sells through. The standard Advanced Clean Dry Shampoo is the permanent product with the identical formula.
Is Advanced Clean too strong for a normal scalp?
No for normal-to-oily scalps — it simply lasts longer between refreshes. For dry or sensitive scalps it can feel over-stripping, and the original PhD Dry Shampoo is the gentler fit.
Does it leave a white cast on dark hair?
No. Like all PhD dry shampoos it is not starch-based, so there is no chalky residue on brunette or black hair once it is brushed through. Wait the full thirty seconds before massaging in — that is the step people skip when they see residue.
