Yes — Bust Your Brass adds bond repair actives alongside the toning, which most traditional purple shampoos don't include. Shimmer Lights-style shampoos are toning only. Bust Your Brass handles brassiness and structural repair at the same step, making it a more complete option for bleached blonde hair.
How long should I leave Bust Your Brass Shampoo on to neutralise brassiness?
Yes — for light maintenance toning, 2–3 minutes is enough. For more noticeable brassiness, work up to 5 minutes. Leave on your whole head for even tone. The longer the contact time, the more pigment deposits.
Will Bust Your Brass make my hair go grey or too ashy if I use it too much?
Yes — overuse of any concentrated purple shampoo can deposit too much pigment, shifting blonde hair ashy or lavender. Use 1–2 times per week maximum and alternate with a non-toning shampoo. If over-toning occurs, washing with a non-toning shampoo a few times will reset the colour.
My hair is highlighted, not fully bleached. Will Bust Your Brass still work?
Yes — Bust Your Brass works on any lightened or bleached sections, whether highlights, balayage, or full bleach. The purple pigment deposits wherever the hair is light and porous enough to absorb it.
I just had balayage done. When should I start using Bust Your Brass?
Yes — wait at least 2 weeks after a colour service before using toning shampoos. Fresh colour needs to set first. After 2 weeks, introduce Bust Your Brass 1–2 times per week to maintain your colour between appointments.
