The Moda Team Review
This is the set for the client whose hair snaps when it is brushed wet, stretches and does not bounce back, or feels gummy when it is soaked — the signs that the internal bonds have been broken by repeated lightening, colour, or heat. Moisture alone does not fix that. Bond repair does, and The Kure is Amika's system for it.
The sequencing is what makes a bond repair routine work. The shampoo introduces the repair complex while it cleanses, so the hair is not being stripped and then patched — it is being rebuilt from the first step. The conditioner deposits more of the complex and closes the cuticle over it. The mask is the intensive step: a higher concentration of the same actives, where contact time scales the depth of repair. Daily wash steps without the mask maintain but do not catch up on serious damage; the mask alone on hair washed with a stripping shampoo is fighting uphill. Together, strength returns within a few weeks of consistent use.
Both wash products are full retail size, and the mask is the 100 ml size — enough for six to eight weekly treatments, which is exactly the window in which most clients see the elasticity come back.
Why Moda Carries This
Amika is a Brooklyn-born professional brand with vegan, cruelty-free formulas and sea buckthorn — a superfruit rich in omega-7 — in every product. We carry Amika as a retail line at Moda, and The Kure is the range we recommend when a client has been lightening at home, has over-processed hair, or needs a bond repair routine between salon visits that does not require a professional application.
Moda Pro Tip
Use the mask on hair that has been shampooed but not conditioned, and towel-blot first — bond repair actives need to reach the cortex, and a layer of conditioner or excess water gets in the way. Leave it for the full time on the tube, and on very damaged ends, go longer. Then follow with the conditioner briefly on the mid-lengths only to restore slip. Mask first, conditioner second — most people do it backwards.
Not the Right Fit If...
Not the set for hair that is dry but structurally sound — if it feels rough but does not stretch or snap, the issue is hydration and the Hydro Rush set will do more. Not for fine, virgin hair that has never been coloured or heat-styled heavily; bond repair has nothing to rebuild there, and the Normcore range is a better everyday choice.
