Use it the way we would.
- Apply mid-lengths to ends after Velveteen Dream Shampoo. Leave 2-3 minutes. Rinse. Follow with Balm or The Shield pre-styling.

Ask ModaHow long should I leave the Velveteen Dream Conditioner on?
Yes — 2–3 minutes for the smoothing benefit. The cuticle-sealing agents need time to deposit on the hair surface. Rinsing immediately reduces the frizz-control result.
Do I rinse with cold or warm water after Velveteen Dream Conditioner?
Yes — cold water is significantly better. Cold water closes the cuticle that the smoothing agents have just sealed. Rinsing with warm water can re-open the cuticle and reduce the smoothing result before you've even stepped out of the shower.
Should I use the Smooth Over Treatment on the same wash as Velveteen Dream Conditioner?
No — use one or the other. On Smooth Over days, replace the conditioner with the treatment. Smooth Over is the concentrated weekly intensive. The conditioner is the daily step.
Can I use the Velveteen Dream Conditioner without the Balm?
Yes — the conditioner delivers results on its own. The Balm is the pre-blowout step that extends smoothing through the heat of drying and seals it in. Without the Balm you'll get good results; with it the frizz control lasts longer through the day.
My hair is wavy and thick but not coarse. Is Velveteen Dream Conditioner too heavy?
No — for thick wavy hair with significant frizz, Velveteen Dream Conditioner is a good match. Apply mid-lengths to ends only, leave 2–3 minutes, rinse with cool water. Thick hair typically handles the smoothing agents well and needs that level of cuticle sealing.
