Ask ModaCan RICA Hair + Beard Anti-Yellow Silver Shampoo be used on the beard as well as the hair?
Yes — it is specifically designed for both. Apply to wet hair first, massage in, then work into a damp beard. Leave both for two to three minutes before rinsing. One product for both hair and beard toning in one shower step.
How often should I use RICA Hair + Beard Anti-Yellow Silver Shampoo?
One to two times per week is the recommendation, not every wash day. Using a toning shampoo too frequently can make grey hair look cool or ashy rather than bright and natural. Alternate with a standard shampoo and use the toning shampoo when the grey starts looking yellow or dull.
Will RICA Hair + Beard Anti-Yellow Silver Shampoo turn my hair purple?
Not with correct use. A purple or blue cast develops from leaving a toning shampoo on too long or using it daily. Limit contact time to two to three minutes and use once or twice a week. If a slight cool cast appears, one wash with a standard shampoo will neutralize it.
Is RICA Hair + Beard Anti-Yellow Silver Shampoo suitable for brown or black hair?
No — it is designed for grey, white, silver or lightened hair and beard. The violet toning pigments in the shampoo neutralize yellow on very light hair. On dark brown or black hair, the pigments may deposit an unwanted cool or purple cast.
Do I need a conditioner after RICA Hair + Beard Anti-Yellow Silver Shampoo?
Yes — toning shampoos cleanse and tone but do not deeply condition. Following with the RICA Opuntia Oil Conditioner or any moisturizing conditioner on the hair lengths keeps the hair soft and manageable after toning. The beard can be finished with Beard Oil after drying.
