- Massage between the palms until it warms and spreads.
- Apply to damp or dry hair, working into the root of the sections you need to control.
- Press the section into position and hold for around ten seconds.
- Define the rest of the shape with what remains on your fingers.

Ask ModaI have had the same cowlick at my crown my whole life. Will a wax genuinely hold it down?
Yes, if you apply it at the root. Maria Nila build this for hair growing in undesired directions, and the microcrystalline base stays plastic under tension instead of fracturing. Work a thin film into the scalp area, push the root against its growth and hold for ten seconds. Waxing the length will not work.
Will a matte wax make my hair look dry, dusty or older than it is?
No, if you use a small amount. The matte comes from solid esters scattering light rather than from anything drying, and the formula also carries hydrolysed vegetable protein and sunflower seed extract. Dusty results come from over-application sitting on the surface — warm it properly and use less than feels right.
Does it crack or flake by the end of the day the way strong gels do?
No. Microcrystalline waxes have a fine, irregular crystal structure that deforms rather than shattering, which is why this holds a section under constant tension without releasing. Gels crack because a rigid resin film has a fracture point; a plastic wax simply bends and carries on gripping.
Fixating and Sculpting are both described as low shine. What actually separates them?
Yes, two things: hold and base. Fixating is hold 4 on a petrolatum and microcrystalline wax base — firm, gripping, for control. Sculpting is hold 3, a shea and olive fibre cream that stays workable and deliberately does not weigh hair down. Control versus texture.
My hair is thinning on top. Will a matte wax make it look fuller or expose more scalp?
Yes, matte generally helps — a shine-free finish does not reflect scalp the way a glossy product does. Keep it off the root area on the thinning section, though: a petrolatum-based wax worked into the scalp will clump fine hair together and separate it, which reveals more scalp, not less.
