Yes — Nº.5 FINE still delivers moisture, hydration and OLAPLEX bond repair; it's just formulated to do so without the heavier conditioning agents that weigh fine hair down. Think of it as the right amount of moisture for fine hair rather than less moisture overall.
I use Nº.4 FINE shampoo. Should I definitely use Nº.5 FINE conditioner, or can I use regular Nº.5?
Yes — the FINE system is designed to work together. Using standard Nº.5 with Nº.4 FINE will typically negate the volume benefit of the lightweight shampoo. For the best result on fine hair, use both FINE products as a matched system.
My fine hair is also colour-treated and I'm worried about fading. Does Nº.5 FINE protect colour?
Yes — Nº.5 FINE is colour-safe, and the OLAPLEX bond-building technology supports the structural integrity of chemically processed hair, which helps maintain colour longer. Healthy, structurally sound hair holds colour better than damaged, porous hair.
Do I still need a leave-in if I'm using Nº.5 FINE?
Yes — Nº.5L leave-in is the natural companion for fine hair on the OLAPLEX system. It's lightweight, provides heat protection, seals split ends, and adds the post-wash protection that a rinse-out conditioner alone can't deliver.
I have fine hair that's also very dry. Is Nº.5 FINE enough moisture for me?
No — if your fine hair is significantly dry, the FINE system may not deliver enough moisture. Standard Nº.5 with careful application (mid-lengths to ends only) and a lightweight leave-in like Nº.5L may be a better balance. Discuss at your next appointment.
