Routine step
Why we like it
The Moda Team Review
OLAPLEX is carried at Moda because clients ask for it by name. Nº.7 is consistently one of the most popular products in the OLAPLEX retail range — the finishing step clients reach for daily even when they do not do a full treatment routine.
Read full stylist notes
The client who blowdries her hair perfectly but says it always looks dull and flyaway-heavy when she gets to the office. She is finishing with nothing. We recommend one drop of Nº.7 on the ends after blow-drying. The shine and smoothness hold from the salon-quality blowout all the way through the day. OLAPLEX pioneered bond building. Nº.7 is the brand’s finishing oil — the most portable and daily-use product in the range and one that clients reach for even when they do not have time for the full treatment routine.

Questions? We get them.
Good to know.
The questions we hear most about this product. If yours isn’t here, a real stylist will answer.
Ask ModaHow many drops of Nº.7 should I actually use? I always end up using too much.
Yes — 1 drop for fine or short hair; 2 drops maximum for medium to thick or long hair. Nº.7 is one of the most over-applied products in the OLAPLEX range. Dispense into your palm, add a drop of water to emulsify, then work through dry or damp hair from mid-lengths to ends.
I've tried other hair oils that make my blowout feel greasy by day two. Will Nº.7 do the same?
No — if used in the right amount and kept off the scalp. Nº.7 is concentrated and lightweight. If it's feeling greasy the next day, you're likely using too much or applying too close to the root. Start with 1 drop and assess before adding more.
Can I use Nº.7 before blow-drying as a heat protectant?
Yes — Nº.7 can be used on damp hair before heat styling as a heat protectant and finishing oil. For dedicated heat protection as the primary goal, Nº.6 or Nº.9 are more specifically formulated for pre-styling protection. Nº.7's primary role is finishing shine and smoothing.
Does Nº.7 work on fine hair, or is it too heavy?
Yes — 1 drop on fine hair, emulsified with a drop of water, applied through the ends only. Fine hair can use Nº.7 effectively with this approach. Avoid the roots entirely and start with less than you think you need.
Do I use Nº.7 before or after Nº.6 leave-in?
Yes — Nº.6 first on damp hair, then Nº.7 as a finishing step on dry or mostly dry hair after styling. Nº.6 is a pre-styling leave-in; Nº.7 is a post-styling finishing oil. Applying both to damp hair at once concentrates too much product in the hair.
