No. No. 103 uses delicate SLES-free surfactants specifically chosen to cleanse effectively without adding heaviness. The moisturising actives — Macadamia oil, Aloe Vera, Silk Protein — work primarily on the hair shaft rather than the scalp surface. Apply most of the product through the mid-lengths and ends rather than loading the root area if oiliness there is a concern.
I have fine hair that goes flat easily. Will the Macadamia oil in No. 103 weigh my hair down?
No. Macadamia oil in a rinse-out shampoo is present as part of the conditioning complex and rinses through rather than depositing heavily on the hair. For fine hair, follow with No. 202 Leave-In applied to the ends only rather than No. 201 for maximum lightness.
Can I use No. 103 on colour-treated hair? I'm worried about stripping my colour faster.
Yes. The SLES-free gentle surfactant system in No. 103 is specifically designed not to over-strip — it's one of the most gentle formulas in the DEPOT® range. The sulphate-free, gentle cleanse is well suited to colour-treated hair that needs moisture alongside careful cleansing.
How is No. 103 different from just using any moisturising shampoo from a drugstore?
No. 103 is built on a sulphate-free, SLES-free surfactant base fundamentally different from most mass-market moisturising shampoos, which often use harsh detergents then add silicone to compensate. No. 103 cleans gently with Amino Acids, Silk Protein, and Macadamia oil as functional conditioning actives rather than coating agents.
My hair snaps and breaks at the ends. Is No. 103 going to help with breakage or do I need a treatment?
No. 103 supports breakage reduction through its Wheat Proteins and Amino Acids, which have conditioning and antistatic effects on the hair shaft. However, active breakage and porosity issues are best addressed with a dedicated leave-in. No. 103 is the correct cleanse foundation — pair it with No. 202 Complete Leave-In for more comprehensive repair support.
