K18 is not a conditioning product. That distinction matters enormously when recommending it to clients because it explains why it works when other treatments have not. Most repair treatments — masks, oils, conditioners — work by coating the outside of the hair shaft to make it feel smooth and look shiny. K18 does not coat anything. The K18PEPTIDE™ penetrates to the inner layer of the hair — the medulla and cortex — and reconnects the polypeptide chains that bleach, colour, heat and chemical services have severed. When those chains break, the hair becomes weak, stretchy, rough and prone to breakage. K18 reconnects them. That is structural repair, not surface conditioning.
We carry K18 specifically because some clients come in with hair that has been through too much — over-processed, breaking at the lengths, mushy when wet. For that hair, a deep conditioning mask addresses the symptom without touching the cause. K18 addresses the cause. It does not replace conditioner in the routine; it is used after rinsing conditioner, applied to damp hair on its own, and left in. No rinsing. Four minutes to begin working, with cumulative improvement over multiple applications.
The 5 ml single-use size is what we recommend for clients who are sceptical or who have never used it before. One application on genuinely damaged hair produces a noticeable difference in texture and elasticity. That is usually enough to convert a sceptic into a committed user.

When applied to damaged hair, it diffuses into the cortex and medulla and reconnects severed polypeptide chains — the structural bonds that give hair its strength, elasticity and resistance to breakage. This is not a temporary effect; the reconnected chains remain intact through washing and styling until the hair is exposed to further damaging processes.
Moda Pro Tip
Apply on freshly washed, conditioner-rinsed damp hair and section it through from root to end. Leave for a minimum of four minutes before blow-drying or styling. Do not rinse. On severely damaged hair, use every wash for the first four weeks. On hair that is in reasonable condition but needs maintenance repair, once a week is sufficient. The product is concentrated enough that even the 5 ml single-use size delivers a full head application for most hair lengths.
Not the Right Fit If...
Not the right choice if your hair is healthy and you want conditioning or hydration — this is a repair product, not a moisturiser. If your hair feels dry but is not structurally damaged, The Therapist or a hydrating mask will serve you better. K18 is for hair with genuine structural compromise: breakage, stretch when wet, rough texture that does not improve with conditioning, or hair that has been bleached, highlighted, chemically processed or heavily heat-styled over time.
How To Use
- Shampoo and condition as normal. Rinse conditioner fully.
- Squeeze excess water from hair until damp but not dripping.
- Apply K18 Leave-In Mask through all sections, root to end. Do not rinse.
- Leave for a minimum of 4 minutes.
- Style as usual.
